Persian daffodil fields designated national heritage

Two daffodil fields across the southern province of Fars have recently been inscribed on the national heritage list.

Two daffodil fields across the southern Iranian province of Fars have recently been inscribed on the national heritage list.

The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts announced the inscriptions on Wednesday in a letter to the governor-general of the province.

The daffodil is a symbol for the eye in Persian culture and literature, notably the beloved's eye.

The well-known Iranian daffodil has a wonderful scent. In the spring through the summer, flowers bloom and bulbs expand underground.

Shiraz, the provincial capital of Fars, is home to some of the country’s most magnificent buildings and sights.

It draws an increasing number of domestic and foreign tourists to this provincial capital, which originally served as Iran's capital during the Zand dynasty.
